Strange Coversations with My Dad
This is just after I grumbled about being unsure why I still play Candy Crush Saga, even though I’ve been stuck on the same level for days.
Dad: You only do your contract work at night?
Me: What do you think I have writer’s block on?
Dad: I thought you were writing something that’s already been written?
Me: (Confused look) You wanna repeat that in English, please?
He repeats himself.
Me: I have no idea what that’s supposed to mean.
Dad: I thought you were re-writing something someone else had written.
Me: Ghostwriting is where you write something and the client takes all the credit. Along with the royalties. And everything else that comes with it.
“Writing something that’s already been written”? What am I, a copy machine?
